This document provides instructions to integrate Zendesk with UPSSO based on the SAML protocol

PREREQUISITES

  1. Administrator access to the ZenDesk portal.

  2. Administrator access to UPSSO portal.

DOWNLOADING THE IDP CERTIFICATE

1.Login to UPSSO portal as administrator.

2.Click on the “IDP Resources” link and then “DOWNLOAD IDP Certificate” button.

2.A file named “server.crt” will be downloaded.

3. Convert the IDP Certificate into SHA256 fingerprint format. Keep it as we need this later

CONFIGURING UPSSO SAML IN ZENDESK

  1. Sign in to ZenDesk Site Administration and go to Accounts.

2. Click on Single Sign-On. Enable SAML and enter the details of IDP.

SAML SSO URL- https://<YOUR_UPSSO_DOMAIN-NAME>/upsso/upsso-service

Certificate fingerprint - C8:3C:4F:12:64:58:48:D4:A9:FE:13:A7:3B:36:70:87:C4:F4:32:08(Converted Certificate from (DOWNLOADING THE IDP CERTIFICATE))

3.Click Save .

CONFIGURING ZENDESK APPLICATION IN UPSSO

  1. Login into the UPSSO portal as an administrator.

  2. Click on the “Application Management” menu and then click new record button and select SAML application as highlighted below.

3.Click on add new application to ZenDesk application icon.

4. Enter the ZenDesk SSO Domain name of your company. Click on the Save button.

TESTING THE INTEGRATION

  1. Make sure to logout from ZenDesk.

  2. Login into the UPSSO portal as a user having the same email address as a ZenDesk user.

  3. Click on the ZenDesk Application.

  4. Select the OTP method and enter the OTP and click on the Verify button.

5.Users will be able to access the ZenDesk application

How to ByPass SSO

  1. The administrators can bypass the SSO by accessing the Zendesk URL https://<your_zendesk_domain>.zendesk.com/access/sso_bypass

  2. Only the administrator can access the above URL.

  3. The Non-Admin users can only login through SSO.
